Altrex embarks on next growth phase with new partner Frénéhard & Michaux

Frénéhard & Michaux Group (F&M) has acquired Parcom’s stake in Altrex to form a strong and long-term partnership that will benefit Altrex’ future growth and continuity. The partnership will create a European market leader in the ‘working at height’ product category and will offer various growth opportunities for parties involved, both geographically and operationally.

Altrex is specialized in non-permanent aluminium access equipment such as scaffolds, stepladders, ladders and suspended platforms. Altrex is the market leader in the Netherlands and Belgium, where  it offers a broad product portfolio to its professional, DIY and rental customers. Furthermore, the company exports its products to over 60 countries.

F&M is a large French industrial group, with a specific focus on products for ‘access and safe working at height’ and roofing accessories. With this acquisition, F&M will increase its focus on the ‘working at height’ segment, which predominantly includes (steel and aluminium) access equipment and fall protection solutions. The product group ‘working at height’ represents a dominant share of F&M’s total turnover. In the past F&M has conducted several acquisitions in this segment, including Tubesca-Comabi and Skyworks. As part of F&M, Altrex will be well positioned for further growth in the field of ‘working at height’ both geographically and operationally.

Eugène Derksen, CEO Altrex: “We are delighted with the partnership with F&M, as we see a great cultural and operational fit between the companies and various growth opportunities. I would like to thank Parcom for their active involvement over the past years, specifically with respect to the various identified growth initiatives for Altrex. Parcom in general and its people in particular have proven to be the party we were looking for in 2018. We look forward to this new chapter for Altrex.”

Willem-Jan Merckel, Parcom: “Since our investment in 2018, together with management we have focused on expanding the business of Altrex and the continuation of innovative solutions within the ‘working at height’ segment. We are confident that this new partnership offers various further growth opportunities for both parties and would like to congratulate all parties involved with a successful outcome of the transaction.”
