Bakkersland reached agreement on sale of ZAV

Today, Bakkersland announced it has reached an agreement on the sale of the ZAV (reduced-oxygen packaged) bread products. Dutch Bakery B.V. will become the new owner.

The sale of the reduced-oxygen packaging activities fits Bakkersland’s strategy to focus on the production of daily fresh bread, bake-off bread and pastries.
The sale involves the bakeries in both Eindhoven and Tilburg, as well as the distribution hub in Tilburg. With the sale to Dutch Bakery, a smooth continuation of the service to clients is guaranteed.

“By selling the ZAV activities, we are able to specialize further on making the best daily fresh bread, bake-off bread and pastries. This will allow us to further improve our strong market position in these segments and realize growth. The ZAV activities fit well with the strategy and organization of Dutch Bakery. Therefore we are happy to have found a solid buyer, who has been specialized in this segment for years”, Chris Deen, CEO of Bakkersland, commented.

“With the focus Dutch Bakery has had for decades on developing and baking bake-off bread and pastries, combined with the scale of the activities acquired from Bakkersland, a leading company will emerge in the Dutch bake-off bread market”, Jefrem Schapendonk, CEO of Dutch Bakery said.
