Bouwgroep Dijkstra Draisma finds partner in Parcom

Bouwgroep Dijkstra Draisma and investment company Parcom announce that an agreement has been reached for Parcom to become shareholder in the innovative construction group from Dokkum/Bolsward. Together with the current management team, director Biense Dijkstra will continue to lead the Frisian family business as driving force, director and large shareholder to shape further expansion of the activities.

Bouwgroep Dijkstra Draisma, a family business founded in the nineteenth century and employing more than 350 people, has grown rapidly in recent years. The company is at the forefront of innovation and sustainability, with as recent example the development of prefabricated houses that are gasless and circular, and that even generate energy. The company strongly contributes to the energy transition and to a more sustainable built environment. The great demand for affordable homes in the Netherlands and the need to speed up sustainability, restoration of the environment and energy independence drive growth. Bouwgroep Dijkstra Draisma is therefore developing rapidly, with respect for the expertise of its employees, clients and cooperation partners and with cherished roots in the regions in which the company fulfils its mission.

Biense Dijkstra, director and shareholder of Bouwgroep Dijkstra Draisma, is delighted to welcome Parcom as a co-shareholder. “Our company is growing rapidly and I expect that this will certainly not diminish in the coming years, due to the challenge of building sustainable, innovative and affordable houses in an ever larger part of the Netherlands. Therefore, we decided to expand the shareholder base of our company with an enterprising Dutch investment company. We soon had a good click with the Parcom team and have a shared vision of our goals for the coming years. We want to create buildings that are good for people and nature with even more clout and impact – while retaining the pride and culture that fits our company and its employees.”

Willem-Jan Merckel, partner at Parcom, is looking forward to working with Biense Dijkstra and his team. “We are pleased to invest in Bouwgroep Dijkstra Draisma, a strong and modern construction company that Biense and his people have built into a frontrunner in sustainable and innovative construction. We look forward to supporting the company in its further growth.”

Financial details of the transaction will not be disclosed. The transaction is subject to approval by The Dutch Competition Authority (Autoriteit Consument & Markt).
